who we are

Natior'Ala

We are a national environmental association dedicated to the conservation of Madagascar’s biodiversity. Our conservation efforts began with a pilot project in the Marotandrano Special Reserve funded by Rufford Foundation and International Primatological Society. Our plans include expanding our conservation efforts to various regions across the country.

OuR STORY

Our starting point

Established in 2022 by Malagasy primatologists, the organization has since fostered international collaborations with  conservationists. While our initial focus was on safeguarding lemur species, the unique wildlife endemic to Madagascar, our mission has evolved to encompass the broader goal of protecting both the forest and the diverse wildlife inhabiting it as well as promoting the well-being of the indigigenous community.

Madagascar stands out globally due to its unique ecosystem, harboring many species found nowhere else on Earth. Continued threats have wiped out forested areas and wildlife, resulting in a significant loss of biodiversity not only within Madagascar but also contributing to a global decline. The protection of Malagasy biodiversity is an urgent matter.
